đź’ˇNot Alone Anymore

There was a time when my child should have been happy,

surrounded by family, laughing without worries.

Instead, he learned how to endure alone.

He never said he was lonely.

He never said it was hard.

In silence, he grew up faster than his age.

Five months have passed since we returned home.

Now, his days are filled with laughter.

Not the kind of laughter that hides things,

but the kind that comes from feeling safe and seen.

The smile he wears today is different from before.

And that difference matters.

There is an African proverb that says,

“It takes a village to raise a child.”

Back in his homeland, my child is no longer standing alone.

He is growing—

not just stronger,

but happier.

”After the rain, we finally found where we belong.”
